Noble Sacrifice

Back to 1999 I learned that Dr Aris was dying in the UK hospital, Aung San Suu Kyi was allowed to visit her husband aboard but had chosen not to, because she was afraid that she would not be readmitted to Burma again. At the time I thought how cold blooded and silly she was. I couldn't understand why she'd been so stubborn, rather to be a prisoner than set free to say goodbye to her loved one.

Certainly I was all wrong. Not until some time ago I've finally realised, what a noble sacrifice she has made, to her country and to her people. As soon as she figured her life has a much lager purpose to be served, she made it clear that she would not bend under any circumstances. By now she's been under house-arrest for almost two decades, she stands still as a spiritual leader of Burma, her courage has been highly praised.

My say is, certain people have certain responsibilities in lives that cannot be escaped. Life is somehow a battleship rather than a cruise ship. Do the right thing at the right time, do not let the chance slip through our fingers. As said, if one must die for defending one's faith and belief, it's God's will and it's well planned.

If anyone I love dearly has meant to die, I'd not shed a tear because I believe in God, hence I believe in eternity. Now, let's get back to our feet and stay focus. Leaders get things done, Aung San Suu Kyi is a leader.

Simply stated, it is less me and more we.

As long as you don't give up on me, I DO NOT give up on you, all of you.

A Wedding Song

<To the chief music-maker; put to Shoshannim. Of the sons of Korah. Maschil. A Song of loves.> My heart is flowing over with good things; my words are of that which I have made for a king; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

You are fairer than the children of men; grace is flowing through your lips; for this cause the blessing of God is with you for ever.

Put on your sword, make it ready at your side, O strong chief, with your glory and power.

And go nobly on in your power, because you are good and true and without pride; and your right hand will be teaching you things of fear.

Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's haters; because of them the peoples are falling under you.

Your seat of power, O God, is for ever and ever; the rod of your kingdom is a rod of honour.

You have been a lover of righteousness and a hater of evil: and so God, your God, has put the oil of joy on your head, lifting you high over all other kings.

Your robes are full of the smell of all sorts of perfumes and spices; music from the king's ivory houses has made you glad.

Kings' daughters are among your noble women: on your right is the queen in gold of Ophir.

O daughter, give thought and attention, and let your ear be open; no longer keep in mind your people, and your father's house;

So will the king have a great desire for you, seeing how beautiful you are; because he is your lord, give him honour.

And the daughters of Tyre will be there with an offering; those who have wealth among the people will be looking for your approval.

In the great house the king's daughter is all shining: her clothing is worked with gold.

She will come before the king in robes of needlework; the virgins in her train will come before you.

With joy and rapture will they come; they will go into the king's house.

Your children will take the place of your fathers; so that you may make them rulers over all the earth.

I will keep the memory of your name living through all generations; and because of this the people will give you praise for ever.

Crazy Authorities

Aren't you worried my dear?

FYI I'm sick worried.

But you don't look like you're worried...

How am I supposed to look?

I don't know, but it's not good for your mental health to suppress your feelings in such a way.

You mean I have to kick a few butts, to stab a few jerks, or to shoot a few criminals?

May be... if that helps...

That's not worry but crazy, leave it to the Chinese Authorities.

God Bless The Broken Road

Just in case you forget, I love you, more than anybody else on earth.

Kidnapping Of The Century

Sir Li Ka-shing, GBM, KBE (simplified Chinese: 李嘉诚; traditional Chinese: 李嘉誠), is a wealthy businessman from Hong Kong. He is the richest person of Chinese descent in the world, one of the richest and most influential investors in Asia, and the eleventh richest man in the world according to Forbes with an estimated wealth of $26.5 billion on February 11, 2008.

Li is often referred to as "Superman" in Hong Kong because of his business prowess. His peers in Hong Kong include Lee Shau Kee of the Henderson Land Development, New World Development's Cheng Yu-tung, Kwok family of Sun Hung Kai Properties, and Henry Fok Ying-tung, among others. "From his humble beginnings in China as a teacher’s son, a refugee, and later as a salesman, Li provides a lesson in integrity and adaptability. Through hard work, and a reputation for remaining true to his internal moral compass, he was able to build a business empire.

His two sons Victor Li (李澤鉅) and Richard Li (李澤楷) are also major players in the Hong Kong business scene. Victor Li works directly with his father as managing director and deputy chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited, while Richard Li is the head of PCCW, the largest telecom company in Hong Kong. They are both Canadian citizens.

On May 23, 1996, Victor Li was kidnapped on his way home from work by a notorious Chinese thug named Cheung Tze-keung (張子強), who was nicknamed "Big Spender" because of his flamboyant lifestyle. Li Ka-Shing reportedly paid a ransom of over $100 million to free his son, however, never publicly acknowledged that the kidnapping even took place, although the press published reports of his face-to-face meetings with Cheung Tze-keung. It was never known how the money was given to the criminal. Not happy that his country would look like a dangerous place for wealthy people or businessmen, the President of China, Jiang Zemin, ensured that "Big Spender" would be found and executed. Two years later, Cheung was involved in another high-profile kidnapping of billionaire Walter Kwok. Fleeing to the mainland, Cheung was immediately arrested, accused of other crimes and executed in Guangzhou.

Advertising & Promotion

Advertising And Promotion Plan - It's probably the toughest part of any business. How much to spend, where to place the ads, what message to send, and to who? While there are literally thousands of different promotion avenues available, what distinguishes a successful Advertising and Promotion Plan from an unsuccessful one is FOCUS. So think first of the message that you want to send to your targeted audience. Then look at these promotion possibilities and decide which to emphasise in your marketing plan.

Advertising - The best approach to advertising is to think of it in terms of media and which media will be most effective in reaching your target market. Then you can make decisions about how much of your annual advertising budget you're going to spend on each medium. What percentage of your annual advertising budget will you invest in each of the following:

Bloggers
Direct mail
HD Television
Internet
Magazines
Newspapers
Radio

Publicity - Another avenue of promotion that every business MUST use. Describe how you plan to generate publicity. While press releases spring to mind, that's only one way to get people spreading the word about your business. Consider:

Product launches
Special events, including community involvement
Writing articles and captioned photos
Getting and using testimonials

How to evaluate your ad results - Create a "tracking sheet" for each and every ad you produce in each type of media. This sheet will be filed with a copy of each print ad and the script for each radio or TV ad. Each sheet will contain two major tracking areas:

- First tracking area is the history of the ad. When was it run? What media? What days? What was the cost for the entire run of this ad? What amount was paid by co-op advertising, if any? Art and design charges?

- Second tracking area is the goal of the ad. Who was the ad directed toward? New customers? Regulars? Were projected sales met? Adequate inventory? Proper staffing? Weather? Other events that drew traffic to your area...etc

Who's Behind The Scene

Taliban letter to Canadians warns of more attacks
Updated Sun. Aug. 17 2008 7:55 PM ET

CTV.ca News Staff

The Taliban has sent an open letter urging Canadians to push Ottawa to leave Afghanistan or face more insurgent attacks, after two Canadian aid workers were killed. The fundamentalist Islamic group has waged a violent campaign against NATO and Afghan forces since 2001 when the Taliban was ousted in a U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan.

In an open letter written on behalf of the "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan" and addressed to the "Canadian people," the Taliban says Canada should not have followed the "American" agenda and has "sacrificed" its self-respect. The letter, purportedly written by Taliban spokesperson Qari Muhammad Yussef, says the Taliban is forced to kill Canadians because innocent Afghans are being killed.

"The Afghans did not go to Canada to kill the Canadians. Rather, it is the Canadians who came to Afghanistan to kill and torture the Afghan, to please the fascist regime of America," the letter said.

"The Canadian people have to realize if their sisters, their brothers and their children are being killed in Afghanistan, it is because of the wrong policy of the government of Canada and their falling under the influence of others when they sent occupation soldiers to Afghanistan."

The letter told Canadians to prepare for more attacks like the one earlier this past week in which two Canadian aid workers were gunned down in Logar province.

"Events such as Logar will happen again, because occupied Afghanistan looks at all actors that are established in the interest of America with an eye of hostility," said the letter, which was dated Aug. 15. "You have to convince your government to put an end to the occupation of Afghanistan so that the Afghans are not killed with your hands and so that you are not killed with the hands of the Afghans."

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Stephen Harper called the letter a propaganda exercise and said the threats in it will have no effect on Canadian policy. Kory Teneycke also said it's not surprising the Taliban are targeting aid workers considering that they attack their own civilians. The letter was released on a weekend that saw deadly violence throughout Afghanistan, with more than 90 people reported killed over four days.

There were reports that: Afghan authorities killed 32 Taliban fighters during a four hour battle on Sunday. Five private security guards also died. Ten Afghan police officers were killed by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Kandahar province on Saturday. Foreign forces and Afghan troops killed seven militants in clashes Saturday in a mountainous area of Zabul province. Similar clashes between police and militants also left four insurgents dead in eastern Paktika province. Three police officers were wounded. Four police officers were killed on Friday during an insurgent attack that left 23 militants dead in southern Helmand province. According to the Afghanistan NGO Safety Office, which tracks security issues in the country, insurgent attacks were up by 50 per cent in the first half of this year. About 3,200 people, mostly militants, have died in insurgent attacks this year.

The insurgent violence has left Afghan authorities concerned about security at upcoming celebrations for the country's Independence Day celebrations on Monday. They've called in more than 7,000 officers to secure Kabul. Kandahar's provincial police chief says he will also beef up security in the province, which is the base for most of Canada's 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan.

Three In A Row

"There will be more medals, but it's nice to be the first," said Carol Huynh. Coral was born in Hazelton, B.C., after her parents fled Vietnam in the late 1970s. On Saturday Carol didn't just break Canada's medal drought; she broke on through to the top of the podium, handily winning the gold medal in the 48-kg weight class in women's wrestling.

A bit earlier Dave Calder and Scott Frandsen won a silver medal in the men's pair rowing event, while Tonya Verbeek won a bronze medal in the 55-kg women's wrestling.

All three medals-gold, silver, bronze-came within an hour's time. Isn't that amazing ?

WELL DONE AND KEEP IT UP !

Love Your Neighbors

The Bible says, love your neighbors. However, ever since I've moved in the new apartment this March, I hardly saw any neighbors whether it's in the morning, afternoon or evening. There're exceptions though, for many times I observed on the intersection outside the building that I'd seen many cars followed me home. And for a few times I lingered in the lobby that I'd seen many people came up right after me from the car park. Isn't that a bit awkward?

The fact is the building has more than 600 units. According to the intercom listing there're more than 300 occupants assuming they're all loners, otherwise the figures should be much higher. My question is, what're the chances that I didn't even meet 1/10 of my neighbors in 5 months? On 18 July I wandered to the car park before I went out, it's Friday 3pm but everybody was home without using their cars? Nobody had to work or spy or kill ? Unbelievable ! Am aware the car park has 3 levels sharing by two properties situated side by side. The videos you'll be seeing is level 1 as I haven't been to level 2 & 3, or more surprises are yet to come.

What I'm trying to say is, I'm desperately want to know my neighbors so that I can express my passion and love to them. Yesterday afternoon I sat in the lobby for an hour there I saw tons of them moving in and out, as if I was watching a reality show or drama. Later around 9:30pm I went down to the same car park, in less than 5 minutes I met more than a dozen neighbors in different areas. The most unpredictable ones were two big guys, sitting in the lobby with their laptops staring at me maliciously. Paid attention to the security counter, all in a sudden they had three guards instead of one, playing a so-called rescue drama. Don't you love it?

Now I know the prime factor to meet my neighbors. Don't get it wrong, there's nothing to do with the time zone, but simply a matter of whether they wanted to be seen or not. By the way spot V73 was replaced by ASJZ 352.

*** I've tried to upload the videos on the blog for 3 hours but failed. Likely because I've been using Rogers. Time to bed I'll try my luck tomorrow.

Ultimatum

Now the whole picture is clear, you see it, I see it. Therefore, it's better to put everything on the table. This foul play has been running too long it gets stink. The options are here.

Isn't there an old saying, " the most dangerous place is indeed the safest ". I'm tired of moving around, and moving around doesn't help. Because I do it, anyone can do it. Living a life in that kind of situation you'd rather die, wouldn't you? Yet dying is not a problem but one cannot die in vain. Am counting on you to clear my name. But the problem is I'm not going to die, at least not in the foreseeable future. That says, I shall live as long as we keep the story to ourselves.

Hope for the best prepare for the worst. Should anything happens to me or my loved ones, by all means you should and you must expose this inhuman tragic story in every single graphic details, including some carefully selected decent photos, oh high definition but nice ones please. I can guarantee you the readership will be enormous and will break the record in history. What's more, you'll make a few bucks to set up a memorial foundation for me to help the poor. No way to beat Bill Gates but less is more.

This 21st century I've decided to propose to my sweetheart. He's been very devoted and supported. No one loves me like he does ever, can't wait to say I do but I can't wait forever. Ultimatum is on 21 August, 3 days before the Chinese Olympic closing ceremony. That means we can still make it to attend the event together.

What if he doesn't show up? As mentioned, a life in that kind of situation you'd rather die. Tell the whole world what has happened, get me famous, otherwise it's not fair not only to me but to all of you. The kitchen is too hot already. Aren't you tired of withstanding this whole ugly truth seeing no end of it? Certainly we all look forward to a happy ending, a win-win situation. It's time we stick together to move forward. Our destiny is in God's hands and God listens as always.

NOW, I AM SO RELIEVED.

Propane Explosions

A series of explosions ripped through the storage facility at Sunrise Propane, occurred about 3:50 am local time near Keele and Wilson avenues in North York early Sunday. One firefighter, identified as Bob Leek, a district chief of emergency planning, died on the scene of the blaze that followed the blasts, a blaze that closed major highways and forced thousands to flee their homes. At least eight people were reported to have been treated for minor injuries. Many area homes were damaged, with windows shattered and doors blown off their hinges.

Acting Police Chief, Kim Derry, said one person who was at the site at the time of the explosion remains unaccounted for. The person, who has not been identified and was described as being of East Indian origin, is believed to be an employee of Sunrise Propane. The cause of the fire was still unknown. The area was still too unstable for Ontario Fire Marshal's Office investigators to enter the site and begin their probe. Toronto police ordered the evacuation of neighbourhoods within 1.6 kilometres of Sunrise Propane. Thousands of people living between Keele Street, Dufferin Street, Sheppard Avenue and Wilson Avenue were ordered to leave their homes.

Mayor David Miller, on vacation in Vancouver, was rushing back to Toronto to help co-ordinate the relief efforts. In a teleconference call he said the city would review how residences came to be so close to a propane yard, this facility was allowed under zoning that has been there for well over a decade.

It's A Miracle

"Hang in there, wait for me, just hang in there." The day I left I dared not to turn around saying goodbye. I was afraid of going to cry.

"Dear Heavenly Father, please show me another miracle when I'm home." I prayed during my journey fighting the bad and the ugly.

After 18 days I came home, I cried badly for miracle did happen from time to time.

Bogus Accident

Where shall we begin? Let's begin with the sound of sirens of course. 7 August 2008 at 1:38pm I tracked down the ambulance at downtown Washington DC. It's purely basic instinct that I couldn't wait to see who's the patient this time. A couple minutes later the guy who appeared on the stretcher, had been accused by the shop owners nearby as a convict. They believed what we saw was bogus. Finally my dear, I'd met someone making sense in the capital.

Spy Museum

China Town in Washington DC is fairly nice, the cleanest I've ever seen.

Spy Museum was fun, shouldn't be missed. Unfortunately photography is not allowed. I finished the tour and shopping then type-recorded the exterior right across the street. A young security guard lady waved at me from the museum, instead of getting excited thought that she would allow me to take a few snap shots, I waited for the green light walked back slowly. May be she was disappointed to see me acting cool, for she'd tried to making fun of me. I simply asked what's all about? She said she was curious and she wanted to see my receipt, but I had just walked out from the door within her jurisdiction 3 minutes ago. Forgive my ignorance I never knew the line of duty as a security guard based on curiosity. I knew what's going on and when I asked her name she was panic and wouldn't give it to me. Since when customers do not have a right to know a staff member's name if wanting to file a complaint for discrimination or that sort? She even hid her name badge from me, how hilarious.

Monica and Michael were the witnesses of my case. They wouldn't give out the name of their colleague as well and the young lady had been screaming to push me out.

I know you're tired of it, so am I. But then again, if the US citizens in Washington DC can live with it, why can't I?

Think About What You Saw

On 5 August 2008 my adventure started with the White House Visitor Center offers permanent exhibits relating to the White House and its furnishings, first families and ceremonies.

Sirens continues...as journey continues...

As a living memorial to the Holocaust, The Museum inspires leaders and citizens to confront hatred, prevent genocide, promote human dignity, and strengthen democracy. Between 1939 and 1945, Adolf Hitler and his accomplices murdered six million Jews in occupied Europe as part of Nazi genocidal policy. Back to August 1936, Hitler's Nazi dictatorship scored a huge propaganda success as host of the Summer Olympics. The International Olympic Committee had awarded Berlin the Games in 1931. When Hitler took power two years later, the US and other countries considered but ultimately rejected the idea of a boycott. The world thereby missed the chance to take a stand, that some observers at the time claimed, might have strengthened resistance to Nazi tyranny.

I'm much appreciated John McCain's famous quote of "I'd much rather lose a political campaign than lose a war.” Hence I hope Barack Obama would be smart enough to consider this - "I'd much rather lose a political campaign than lose a life." Picking Hillary Clinton as his running mate of VP is far too dangerous my friend.

Room With A View

My stay in Washington DC has been lovely, as I got upgraded in the hotels all the time, which had never happened in my life before. Hotels' business seems running fairly well in here, occupancy rate sits at 80-100% so I've heard, although I rarely see other genuine guests on any given day. Oh, except days ago when I was back to the hotel there's a line up in front of the elevators. While my key didn't work I immediately returned to the lobby, there I found everybody was gone in less than a minute! That particular moment I thought I was in a twilight zone.

Stayed late or early whatever... until 6am on Friday night because I heard unusual noise from outside the elevators. It seemed very busy as if people were moving around during the midnight. I observed, as I always do, from my rear window as James Steward did, I saw nobody in or out from the hotel. May be, they're simply moving around from floor to floor... from door to door. Again, I thought I was in a twilight zone.

Saturday in the evening right after I'd done a little shopping at the Pentagon City, my suite was cleaned up thoroughly as I expected. The light in the bathroom was always on, regardless which hotel I'd stayed. Sneaking inside the lobby bar I've been using as my work station, there're always love birds sitting nearby kissing each other playing romantic drama. Come on it's free so don't complain.

Just a while ago I met a big guy who claimed himself in charge of the Security and he's from Israel. He assured me there's nothing to worry about as everything has been under his control. Oh well, I know I've got friends in Israel, and here's one so close in my sight. Thank God tonight I'm going to rest in peace, please do not disturb I dare you not.
